Birmingham based mould-makers CMA Moldform are proudly taking part in this month’s Birmingham Made Me festivities which stretch across a variety of design-led events, showcasing the city’s manufacturing talents.

The prestigious festival which is organised by The Design Council will bring together a series of seminars and conferences, with the highlight being the Birmingham Made Me EXPO on the 18th June.

Held at Birmingham’s Millennium Point between 11am – 7pm, the exhibition will showcase a selection of the city’s most innovative design companies from  a variety of sectors and industries including transport and automotive, education, renewables and digital and new media.

This will be CMA Moldform’s third year exhibiting at the Expo and with big changes on the horizon the company sees it as a fantastic opportunity to show visitors just how diverse CMA’s capabilities are.

As part of the Birmingham Made Me celebrations, CMA Moldform’s Technical Sales Manager, Tom Dunkley, was invited to attend a 3 day visit to Milan with a delegation of 50 top Birmingham firms representing the Midlands. Organised by Birmingham City University the trip allowed delegates to visit Alessi, the world famous Italian Design House, as well as attend business seminars across the city on the topic of design.

Tom Dunkley said: “I thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to join like-minded businesses from all kinds of industries, and it gave CMA the platform to engage with individuals that we wouldn’t ordinarily come across through traditional business networking.

The highlight of the trip for me was visiting the Alessi design house; being given the chance to tour their showroom and prototyping facility was incredible. Visits like these are invaluable for our business and will no doubt help to shape the way we innovate ourselves in the future. ”
